History:

The DFW T28 Floh aircraft prototype was designed and produced in 1915 by Mr. Hermann Dorner in the Flugzeugwerft Lübeck Travemünde company that was a branch of Deutsche Flugzeugwerke GmbH (DFW). The DFW T28 aircraft was designed as the high-speed fighter plane what was enabled by its non-traditional framework, particularly in the fuselage part. The first flight in this prototype was realized by Leutnant Hoefig. The DFW Floh reached the maximum speed of 180 km per hour and thus surpassed the other planes of its time. After modifications, which included for example installation of the aerodynamically balanced control surfaces, the aircraft was presented to the military commission. But the commission did not recommend this aircraft type for introducing into army service because of the high landing speed and the insufficient view of the pilot downwards, what made the landing manoeuvre still more complicated.
